«Calvina» is the children's and young adult suspense novel by Carlo Frabetti, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (128 pages, in Spanish).
Lucrecio breaks into a house to rob it and finds Calvino, a child (or girl?) who asks him to act as his missing father. Together they visit an asylum library where the inmates believe they are characters from books; there nothing follows ordinary logic, paradoxes multiply, and identities, like Calvino's own, prove contradictory.
Calvina belongs to the El Barco de Vapor Roja collection (number 179), won the El Barco de Vapor Prize in 2007, and includes illustrations by Raquel Aparicio.
Aimed at readers aged 10 to 14, it combines mystery, paradoxes and intellectual games for those seeking stimulating reading.
