«Breve História da Ideologia Ocidental» is the philosophy book by Rolf Petri, published by Temas e Debates in paperback, in Brazilian Portuguese.
This essay shows that everyday political discourse conveys an ideological view of the world and integrates it into an accessible historical narrative. From European secularisation and the Enlightenment ideal of «civilisation» to the «end of history», it distinguishes the traits of Western ideology and warns against its arrogance.
The cover bears the subtitle «Um Relato Crítico» and the work falls under the category of Philosophy.
Readers of political philosophy and the history of ideas will find an analysis of the ideological assumptions of public discourse.
