«Bouddha: Tome 1, Le rêve de lumière» is the historical novel by Patricia Chendi, published by Pocket in paperback (251 pages, in French).
The story takes place in ancient India, at the foot of the Himalayas, near the source of the Ganges. In the palace of Kapilavastu, Prince Siddhartha grows up under the protection of his father, the venerable Suddhodana, who keeps him confined to shield him from the world's violence; yet an inner voice calls him toward a vast destiny.
First instalment of the series «El Príncipe Siddharta»; the work originally appeared in 1999 under the title «Il principe Siddharta: Fuga dalla reggia».
It will appeal to readers of historical fiction and to those seeking fiction inspired by the figure of Buddha and ancient India.
