«Biblioteca de Cuentos» is Gianni Rodari's collection of children's stories, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (1128 pages, in Spanish).
A selection of popular tales from very diverse origins, in an edition richly illustrated by Judit Morales. The stories offer a broad journey through the literary tradition of several countries and are intended for a children's audience.
The collection comprises six volumes in a cardboard slipcase, published in 2006; translation by Mario Merlino and illustrations by Judit Morales.
Aimed at children and young readers; due to its illustrated and classic nature, it is also suitable for family reading.
Giovanni Francesco "Gianni" Rodari was an Italian writer and journalist, most famous for his works of children's literature, notably Il romanzo di Cipollino. For his lasting contribution as a children's author, he received the biennial Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1970. He is considered Italy's most important 20th-century children's author, and his books have been translated into many languages, though few have been published in English.
