«Barcino» is the historical novel by Maria Carme Roca, published by Columna CAT in hardback (336 pages, in Catalan).
In second-century Roman Barcino, the politician and military man Luci Minici Natal Quadroni Ver, winner in 129 of the dangerous chariot race, carries the memory of a slave who marked his childhood and who seems to be behind every betrayal and murder. Neither success, nor the love of Kyrene, nor the affection of his wife Fausta dispel that shadow.
First edition published in Barcelona in March 2009; it belongs to the Clàssica collection of Columna CAT.
For readers of historical fiction set in ancient Rome and for those interested in the Roman origins of Barcelona.
