In a small village lived a young girl named Prímula, brave and kind. One day, her father told her: "Girls your age are already married. A nobleman from a nearby land has asked for your hand, and I have decided that you will marry him." This traditional Catalan tale, published by Ediciones del Laberinto, is an adaptation by Roberto Piumini and illustrated by Francesco Altan, ideal for children from 4 years old.
Charles Perrault was a French author and member of the Académie Française. He laid the foundations for a new literary genre, the fairy tale, with his works derived from earlier folk tales, published in his 1697 book Histoires ou contes du temps passé. The best known of his tales include "Little Red Riding Hood", "Cinderella", "Puss in Boots", "Sleeping Beauty", and "Bluebeard".
