«Babylon Babies» is the science fiction and crime novel by Maurice G. Dantec, published by Gallimard in paperback (551 pages, in French).
In a world besieged by nationalisms, wars, mafias and sects, the erudite mercenary Hugo Cornelius Toorop escorts the young Marie Zorn to Montreal. The mission seems simple, but Marie's body hides a biological weapon and her schizophrenic mind is connected to artificial intelligences capable of acting on DNA.
The novel belongs to Gallimard's La noire collection; its first edition dates from March 1999.
For readers of science fiction, cyberpunk and crime fiction who seek dense plots with a philosophical backdrop.
Maurice Georges Dantec was a French-born Canadian science fiction writer and musician.
