«Asterix and the Roman Agent» is the adventure comic by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, published by Hodder Dargaud in hardback (48 pages, in English).
In this adventure of the Gaulish village, an emissary from Rome arrives with a friendly and charming attitude, but his true mission is to sow discord among its inhabitants. Mistrust and misunderstandings spread quickly, and Asterix and Obelix will have to prove their ingenuity to prevent the village from crumbling from within.
It corresponds to the album La zizanie from the Asterix series, originally published in 1970; the English translation is by Anthea Bell and Derek Hockridge.
Aimed at child and young adult readers, although the satirical nods in the plot can also be enjoyed by adults.

René Goscinny was a French comic editor and writer, who created the Asterix comic book series with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Born in France to a Jewish family from Poland, he spent his childhood in Argentina where he attended French schools and later lived in the United States for a short period of time. There he met Belgian cartoonist Morris. After his return to France, they collaborated for more than 20 years on the comic series Lucky Luke.
