England, late 19th century. David Pip and his friend Calum Traddles escape the orphanage where they grew up to travel to London and solve the mysterious disappearance of Sherlock Holmes. David believes he is the detective's son and wants to prove it, but on their journey across half of Europe they will cross paths with characters from classic literature, such as Dracula, Frankenstein's monster or Hercule Poirot, in an intrigue that leads them to the Reichenbach Falls.
