«As Regras do Verão» is the fantasy picture book by Shaun Tan, published by Kalandraka in paperback (50 pages, in Portuguese).
Two brothers live a summer governed by the strange rules imposed by the older one: never be late to a parade, never lose the last day of summer. Each infraction brings surreal consequences. With dreamlike illustrations and poetic phrases, Shaun Tan reflects on the arbitrariness of rules and the relationship between brothers.
Work originally published in English as «Rules of Summer» in 2013; winner of the Children's Book Council of Australia award in 2014.
For child and young adult readers, as well as lovers of surreal imagery and visual narrative.
