«Artemísia» is the novel by Maria Àngels Anglada, published by Brau Edicions in paperback (92 pages, in Catalan).
Catalan violinist Climent Moragues and young Athenian Electra fall in love in Mytilene, where they are guests of Artemísia and her sister Laura. As the romance grows among red-domed chapels and gardens, an aura of mystery surrounds Artemísia and her unsettling paintings, in a story linked to one of the most tragic dramas of the 20th century.
This edition is part of the Les Closes collection (number 6) and includes an introduction and notes by Eusebi Ayensa, a specialist in Anglada's work.
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in classical Greece and in Catalan-language narrative.
