«Aparición del eterno femenino contada por S.M. el Rey» is the novel by Álvaro Pombo, published by Editorial Anagrama in hardback (192 pages, in Spanish).
Two cousins, Ceporro and Chino, grow up in their grandmother's flat in postwar Spain, amid games, boxing lessons and the world war rumbling in the background. The arrival of a German girl, orphaned and refugee, breaks into their closed world and transforms it. Narrated by Ceporro, it is a farewell to childhood with a very personal voice.
