«Anything for a T-Shirt» is Ron Rubin's sports biography of Fred Lebow (Syracuse University Press, paperback, 332 pages, in English).
Fred Lebow, a Holocaust survivor, used his commercial instinct to turn the New York City Marathon from an elitist event into a celebration open to everyone. The book tells how he popularised the race, brought it into popular culture and, after a brain cancer diagnosis, managed to run the race he had created himself.
The book belongs to the Sports and Entertainment series from Syracuse University Press and was published in 2004.
For fans of running, the New York City Marathon and sports biographies.
