«Anoitecer no paraíso» is Lucia Berlin's short story collection, published by Alfaguara in paperback (280 pages, in Portuguese).
Lucia Berlin finds beauty in sombre places and senses darkness where all seems clear. Her stories range from Texas to Chile and from Mexico to New York, with characters close to life, treated with disarming honesty and unsettling melancholy. The volume, prepared by the author's son, includes stories previously unpublished in Portuguese.
Original work: «Evening in Paradise: More Stories»; Portuguese edition by Alfaguara Portugal, published in 2018.
For readers of contemporary literary fiction and for those who know Lucia Berlin from «Manual para mulheres de limpeza».
