«Ànima de tramuntana» is the novel by Núria Esponellà, published by Columna CAT in hardback (496 pages, in Catalan).
Mínia, a separated freelance archaeologist, investigates two unusual tombs in the necropolis of Ullastret and reconstructs the story of Ekinar, a woman from the 3rd century BC from a nature-bound culture, against a modern society that treats death as taboo. An intimate narrative that moves between the ancient Empordà and the present.
Winner of the Prudenci Bertrana Prize 2020, it belongs to the Clàssica collection (no. 1279).
For readers of literary fiction seeking stories with a dual timeline and an Empordà setting.
