«Andrómaca; Fedra» is the volume of French classical theatre by Jean Racine, published by Ediciones Cátedra in paperback (224 pages, in Spanish).
This volume brings together two tragedies by Jean Racine set in classical mythology. In Andrómaca, based on Euripides, Seneca and Virgil, unrequited love leads to misfortune. Fedra addresses the conflict of individual freedom. Both plays belong to French classical theatre.
The edition is edited by Emilio Náñez. It is number 33 of the Letras Universales collection. The fifth edition was published in 2007.
It is especially suitable for readers of French classical theatre, classicist tragedy and Greek mythology.

Jean-Baptiste Racine was a French dramatist, one of the three great playwrights of 17th-century France, along with Molière and Corneille, as well as an important literary figure in the Western tradition and world literature. Racine was primarily a tragedian, producing such "examples of neoclassical perfection" as Phèdre, Andromaque, and Athalie. He did write one comedy, Les Plaideurs, and a muted tragedy, Esther, for the young.
