«Andréas et autres récits» is a collection of short stories by Hugo von Hofmannsthal published by Gallimard in paperback (265 pages, in French).
Andréas de Ferschengelder travels to Venice at the end of the eighteenth century in search of happiness and finds a city of splendour, festivities and unsettling uncertainty. The stories completing the volume address love, death and destiny: each character finds in reality what they carry within, and despising it can prove lethal.
The French edition was published on 8 September 2005 in Gallimard's L'Imaginaire collection; the title story appears alongside other texts by the author.
For readers of literary short stories and of the prose of Hugo von Hofmannsthal, author of 'Der Rosenkavalier'.
