«Aliocha» is the novel by Henri Troyat published by Editions 84 in paperback, in French.
Aliocha, son of Russian emigrants, feels different and rejects his parents' past: his homeland is France and his passion, French writers. At school he meets Thierry, a student set apart by his disability. From this friendship arise mutual admiration and intellectual exchange, and through them Aliocha reconciles with his dual identity.
The novel was originally published in 1991; this French edition appeared in 1993.
Reading for those interested in French fiction and in coming-of-age stories about identity and friendship.
