«Alice» is the contemporary fiction novel by Milena Agus, published by Punto de Lectura in paperback (176 pages, in Spanish).
Alice leaves her village to start a new life in Sardinia, in her aunt's flat, facing the sea. Among the neighbours she discovers a second family: an elderly violinist, a generous woman, a wise child and a jealous young woman. Each neighbour carries their own fears and obsessions while the novel explores loneliness, friendship and the search for belonging.
Novel originally published as «Sottosopra» in 2012; the Spanish translation, by Celia Filipetto, appeared in 2013.
For readers of contemporary fiction who value character-driven stories and everyday life.
