«A-F (ABECECONTES cada lletra, un conte)» is a storybook by Beatriz Doumerc and Gabriel Barnes, published by Editorial Brúixola in hardback.
The volume brings together six short stories featuring animals, one for each letter from A to F. Pictograms replace some words in the text, so children take part in the reading while becoming familiar with the sound of each letter.
It belongs to the ABECEcontes collection (no. 1). It includes 75 illustrations by Horacio Elena and a Catalan translation by Marga G. Borràs.
Recommended for children aged 3 to 7 who are beginning to recognise letters and sounds; suitable for shared reading or for starting independent reading.
Beatriz Doumerc de Barnes was an Argentine writer of children's literature. Her book, La línea, illustrated by her husband, Ayax "Pacho" Barnes, was awarded the Casa de las Américas Prize in 1975.
