Synopsis of Abaddon's Gate

In the third installment of 'The Expanse' series, humanity faces a new and mysterious challenge. An alien artifact, which has been secretly working under the clouds of Venus, emerges to build a massive structure beyond the orbit of Uranus: a gate to a dark and starless space. Jim Holden and the crew of the Rocinante join a vast fleet of scientific and military ships to examine this artifact. However, a complex plot unfolds in the shadows, with the destruction of Holden as the main objective. As humanity's emissaries try to determine whether the gate is an opportunity or a threat, they realize that the greatest danger may be the one they have brought with them.
