«A corazón abierto» is the novel by Jacqueline de Romilly, published by El Aleph Editores in paperback (240 pages, in Spanish).
The narrator, Teresa's mother, observes the difficult coexistence of her daughter with Carl, a rootless and mysterious man. She decides to intervene and, in doing so, discovers in herself a new sensitivity, silenced by routine. The novel recounts this inner adventure: a woman's fascination with her daughter's husband.
The edition belongs to the Modernos y Clásicos collection; the work was originally published in French under the title «Ouverture à cœur».
Jacqueline Worms de Romilly was a French philologist, classical scholar and fiction writer. She was the first woman nominated to the Collège de France, and in 1988, the second woman to enter the Académie française.
