«A cidade dos desexos» is the children's story by Agustín Fernández Paz, published by Edicións Xerais in hardback (64 pages, in Galician).
Three girls and two boys create the CPIF, a centre for promoting fantastic initiatives, in the Refuxio, the basement of an abandoned house. There they meet Ana, a mysterious woman who grants wishes, and ask her for three wishes so that the city can have trees and birds again. It is an environmentalist story about friendship and the power of imagination.
With illustrations by Manolo Uhía, it is the first title in the Merlín collection and the first children's work by Agustín Fernández Paz. This edition is from 2006.
Recommended for ages 7 and up, it is aimed at Galician readers who enjoy stories about friendship and greener cities.
