«Stabat Mater» is the classical music album by Pergolesi and Palestrina, released in 1988 by Supraphon, on CD.
It brings together two versions of the Stabat Mater by Jacopone da Todi: the celebrated one by Pergolesi for soprano, contralto, female choir, strings and organ, and that by Palestrina. Margaret Tynes, Anita Turner-Butler, the Czech Philharmonic Choir and the Prague Chamber Orchestra, with Massimo Bruni, perform «O quam tristis et afflicta» and «Fac ut ardeat cor meum».
Edition from the Crystal Collection series with digital mastering. Recorded in Prague. Includes Palestrina's Stabat Mater, with a duration of 10'49, alongside Pergolesi's.
For fans of classical music, Baroque sacred repertoire and choral performances with soloists.
