The album brings together Advent works by Johann Sebastian Bach: the cantatas 'Schwingt freudig euch empor' (BWV 36) and 'Bereitet die Wege, bereitet die Bahn' (BWV 132), along with the instrumental suite on the chorale 'Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland'. The Aradia Ensemble, conducted by Kevin Mallon, performs them with period instruments and vocal soloists.

Suitable for fans of Baroque music and historically informed performances of Bach's sacred repertoire.
