«Shéhérazade» is the album by Maurice Ravel with Maria Ewing, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Simon Rattle, released by EMI Classics on CD.
The programme combines the work Shéhérazade, performed by soprano Maria Ewing, with orchestral pieces by Ravel such as Alborada del gracioso, Ma Mère l'Oye and La Valse. Simon Rattle's reading at the helm of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra highlights the impressionist colour of these scores.
European edition with catalogue number CDC 7 54204 2.
For classical music enthusiasts and, in particular, for fans of Ravel's orchestral versions and Simon Rattle's conducting.
