«Savane» is the African blues album by Ali Farka Touré, released by Nonesuch on CD in 2006.
Recorded in Mali, the album combines Ali Farka Touré's guitar and voice with traditional Sahel rhythms and blues roots. The king of desert blues singers develops a serene, deep sound between Mali's musical heritage and North Africa. The cover shows the musician seated with his guitar, with a sepia-toned visual treatment that reinforces the intimate, rural character of these posthumous songs.
Album released by Nonesuch in 2006, a year after the artist's death. It is his final studio recording and features musicians from Mali and the desert blues circuit.
Recommended for listeners of blues, world music and Malian music who want to discover the final work of one of the great African guitarists.
