«Improvisations» is the jazz album by violinist Stéphane Grappelli, released in 2010 on the Essential Jazz Classics label on CD.
The original sessions, recorded in Paris in 1956, feature jazz standards performed in a quartet, with Stéphane Grappelli on violin as the lead. The repertoire showcases the violinist's swing style and leaves room for improvisation in dialogue with the rest of the musicians.
The 2010 CD edition adds bonus tracks to the original 1956 Paris recording.
Of interest to fans of classic jazz and of the violin as a lead voice in small swing ensembles.
