«Goldberg Variations, BWV 988» is the album by Glenn Gould released in 2007 by Naxos Historical on CD, which also includes the Partita No. 5, BWV 829.
The CD brings together two keyboard works by Bach in performances by Glenn Gould: the Goldberg Variations, with its Aria, thirty variations and the final repeat of the Aria, and the Partita No. 5 in G major, with movements such as the Sarabande and the Gigue. Recordings from 1954 and 1955 noted for their clarity, sparing use of the pedal and occasionally extreme tempos.
