«Why Do Jamaicans Run So Fast?» is the sports documentary by Miguel Galofré that explores the success of Jamaican sprinters, on DVD.
The documentary analyses the hegemony of Jamaican sprinters in athletics and links it to the culture, society and environment of the island. Through interviews and competition scenes, it shows how sport and music become escape routes from poverty and violence in Jamaica, with the participation of athletes and musicians from the country.
Directed by Miguel Galofré and produced by Nando García-Guereta, it was awarded best film and best direction at the Milan International Film Festival 2005. This DVD edition includes an extra CD.
