«Petitet» is the 2018 documentary by Carles Bosch about rumba artist Joan Ximénez Petitet, on DVD.
Joan Ximénez Petitet, a Gypsy rumba singer from the Raval district of Barcelona, wants to keep the promise he made to his mother: to restore the splendour of Catalan rumba and take it to the Gran Teatre del Liceu. The documentary shows the challenge of coordinating some twenty Gypsy musicians with a symphony orchestra, a process full of difficulties and moments of chaos.
Carles Bosch was nominated for an Oscar for «Balseros» and won a Goya for «Bicicleta, cuchara, manzana». The film lasts approximately 100 minutes and is released by Cameo Media.
