Synopsis of La Regenta
La Regenta es una adaptación cinematográfica de la novela homónima de Leopoldo Alas Clarín, ambientada en la España de la Restauración Borbónica (1875-1931). La película narra la historia de Ana Ozores, una joven oprimida por la hipocresía de la sociedad provinciana de Vetusta (Oviedo). Casada con un regente jubilado, Ana se siente insatisfecha y atormentada por deseos eróticos, buscando consuelo en su confesor, quien a su vez desarrolla una pasión prohibida por ella. Paralelamente, un donjuán llamado Álvaro Mesía intenta seducirla, mientras la ciudad observa ansiosamente el desenlace de este drama.
