«Al filo de lo imposible: El gran cristal y el león domado» is the mountain documentary by Sebastián Alvaro, released by RTVE on DVD (2014).
The documentary commemorates the 50th anniversary of the first ascent of K2, achieved in 1954 by Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni, and follows the expedition that TVE organised in 2004 to return to the summit. Participants include Edurne Pasaban, Juan Vallejo, Ferran Latorre, Mikel Zabalza and Orazabal; the summit is reached on 26 July after sixteen hours of climbing with winds of over 30 km/h and temperatures of −27 °C. Pasaban thus becomes the first woman to summit all fourteen eight-thousanders and return alive to base camp.
The DVD has a running time of 110 minutes, includes audio in Spanish and subtitles in Spanish, and consists of one disc in region 2. Its release date is 1 May 2014.
