Sir Patrick Alfred Caldwell-Moore was an English amateur astronomer who attained prominence in that field as a writer, researcher, radio commentator and television presenter.

Patrick Moore was a prolific author who wrote over 580 books throughout his lifetime.

At the age of eleven, he demonstrated his passion for the cosmos by joining the British Astronomical Association.

At just fourteen, he took on the responsibility of running an observatory following the death of his mentor.

Beyond his scientific work, he explored fiction under the pseudonym R. T. Fishall.

His iconic program The Sky at Night established him as a fundamental figure in astronomical outreach.
