«Zorro draagt een paarse toga» is the autobiographical work by Peter Labens, published by Bitbook in paperback (424 pages, in Dutch).
In 2019, Peter Labens left a successful career as a lawyer and moved with his wife to a village in the Gard, in southern France, where they run rural guesthouses. The work alternates his new life, guided by imagination, with memories of his childhood in Lichtervelde and disconcerting episodes from legal practice. Marianne, his wife, is the muse who keeps him on course.
Subtitled «Een jaar in de Gard», it was published in 2021.
For readers of memoirs and lawyers' biographies, as well as true stories of life change.
