«Z» is the novel by Vassilis Vassilikos, published by Orbis: Novelas de Cine in hardback (274 pages, in Spanish).
Novel based on the real assassination of Greek socialist MP Grigoris Lambrakis in Thessaloniki in 1963. Vassilikos reconstructs the investigation of the crime and shows how the authorities try to conceal a political conspiracy; the letter Z, which gives the book its title, refers to the Greek verb meaning «he lives».
Originally published in Greek in 1966 and banned in Greece the following year; this edition came out in 1987 within the Novelas de Cine collection.
A classic of the political novel, for readers interested in twentieth-century Greek history and in investigative plots with a real background.
