A novel set in Czechoslovakia around the Velvet Revolution: Pavel, a television cameraman, works under the communist regime dreaming of filming his time. After the collapse, freedom brings him not his great film but commercial assignments and pornography. The novel poses the dilemma of the artist with nothing to rebel against.
