After the plane carrying a Uruguayan rugby team crashed in the Andes in 1972, the survivors are left isolated in the snow. With no food and extreme cold, they must hold on while waiting for a rescue that never comes, in circumstances that push them to extreme decisions.

The work was originally published in English in 1974 as «Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors»; this Spanish edition is from 1983.
