«Venezuela» is the novel by Jochen Jung, published by Editions Métailié in paperback (112 pages, in French).
In 1941, Alfredo Guzman, a gynaecologist and convinced Nazi, seduces a general's wife and must desert. With the help of Ernst Udet, he flees to Venezuela, his father's land, on a ship with Jewish refugees. There he discovers a family past and an elusive progenitor. His son narrates with irony a story about identity, exile and belonging.
The work belongs to the Bibliothèque allemande collection of Editions Métailié and was published on 2 October 2008.
Recommended for those who enjoy fiction with a historical background, humour and self-criticism.
