Una semana en la nieve

Synopsis of Una semana en la nieve

In 'A Week in the Snow,' Emmanuel Carrère immerses us in the unsettling experience of Nicolas, an eight-year-old boy who participates in a white week in the snow with his schoolmates. What begins as a fun getaway transforms into an initiatory journey full of fears and insecurities. In a snowy and icy landscape, Nicolas meets his ski instructor and Hodkann, a new friend who becomes the terror of the dormitories. However, the fun is overshadowed by the news of the murder of a child in a neighboring town, creating an atmosphere of threat and unease. Carrère mixes the chronicle of events with fantastic elements, evoking the tales of Perrault and the Brothers Grimm, to explore childhood fears and the fragility of childhood.
