«Una màquina d'espavilar ocells de nit» is the short story collection by Jordi Lara Suriñach, published by Edicions de 1984 in paperback (276 pages, in Catalan).
A curious teenager joins a group of veteran, eccentric musicians and discovers the purpose of a machine for waking night birds: to reflect on talent, love, freedom and the mystery of music. Between memoir and artistic essay, it brings together seven autobiographical stories and an epilogue, with singular characters and celebrities of Catalan music.
First published in 2008, the work belongs to the Mirmanda collection (number 52).
For readers interested in music, Catalan culture and autobiographical narrative.
