Gaspare Torrente, a fisherman's son and aspiring Latinist, leaves an island in southern Italy for Turin. An unexpected turn offers him a rescue from a society that does not recognize those who are different.
Winner of the 2004 Premio Campiello and the Premio Alassio Centolibri – Un autore per l’Europa. This edition belongs to the Le Fenici tascabili collection.
For readers of contemporary Italian fiction and coming-of-age novels, with a critical look at the school system and adolescence.
