Un árbol, un adiós

Synopsis of Un árbol, un adiós

«Un árbol, un adiós» is the novel by Marina Mayoral, published by Acento Editorial in paperback (107 pages, in Spanish).

Laura returns to the family home to plant a magnolia, a gesture that completes the three important things in life: having a child, writing a book, and planting a tree. Her monologue reviews those who marked her past —her father, the old nanny, the inseparable friend— and the decision she made when leaving that world to follow the man she chose to live with.

Published in 1996, it belongs to the Club collection, number 2. Translated from Galician by the author herself; its original title is «Unha árbore, un adeus».

For readers interested in contemporary Galician narrative and in stories that reflect on memory and life decisions.
