«Tras las huellas de Darwin» is Toby Green's travel chronicle, published by Plaza & Janés in hardback (380 pages, in Spanish).
Toby Green follows on horseback Charles Darwin's itinerary through South America for a year: some six thousand kilometres, from Tierra del Fuego to the Galápagos Islands. Without logistical support and with scant equestrian experience, Green portrays gauchos, Mapuche people and Chilean miners, and shows how much the continent has changed.
«Tras las huellas de Darwin» was published in June 2000 and was shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Award in 1999.
For readers of travel literature and adventure chronicles with an interest in natural history and South America.
