«Todos Nascemos Benfiquistas - Mas Depois Alguns Crescem» is a book of chronicles by Joel Neto (Esfera dos Livros, paperback, 208 pages, in Portuguese).
Joel Neto argues that almost everyone is born a Benfica fan and that, with age, many end up at Sporting. The author, a declared Sporting supporter, portrays Portuguese football: protagonists, coaches, mistakes, half-empty stadiums, clubs and controversies. For Joel Neto, football is love and hate, drama and comedy, and provokes tears and laughter.
The edition was published in 2007 and includes a preface by Torcato Sepúlveda. The cover shows a sleeping baby in a red shirt with a blue and red pacifier.
For fans of Portuguese football, especially Benfica and Sporting supporters, and for those who enjoy opinionated sports chronicles.
