«Tierra adentro» is the reportage by Karlos Zurutuza Aguado on the migration route through Libya to Europe, published by Libros del K.O. in paperback (144 pages, in Spanish).
The work documents the experiences of those crossing Libya to try to reach Europe, a country mired in post-Gaddafi chaos, with rival governments, militias, trafficker mafias and terrorist groups. The author and photographer Ricardo García Vilanova travelled the country from 2011 to give voice to migrants and local protagonists and offer nuances that traditional press coverage does not capture.
The book draws on the fieldwork of journalist Karlos Zurutuza and photojournalist Ricardo García Vilanova, who collaborate in narrating the testimonies gathered on the ground.
For readers interested in investigative journalism, migration and the social reality of Libya after the conflict.
