«Tiempo de beleño» is the novel by Javier Fernández de Castro, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (200 pages, in Spanish).
In the middle of a storm, two young motorcyclists arrive at a remote roadside inn and spend the night there listening to a story told by their hosts. That story brings together Charles V with the canal he planned to build, the Cojo de Villacarriedo, and a Moorish princess, in a plot that blends the youth tale, comedy, and moral fable.
The novel was published in Barcelona in 1997 in hardback with dust jacket. Javier Fernández de Castro (1942-2020) is the author.
