«The boy next door» is the romance novel by Julie Cohen, published by Marabout in paperback (429 pages, in French).
This romantic comedy follows Eleanor, who writes erotic novels at night and works in a pub by day; only her friend and neighbour Hugh knows about her double life. After an unprotected night with a stranger, she discovers she is pregnant and, with Hugh's help, tries to locate the father. The search complicates their friendship.
The work originally appeared as «One Night Stand» in 2007 and this French translation was published in 2009.
