«Terra baixa» is the theatrical drama by Àngel Guimerà, published by Edicions 62 in paperback (96 pages, in Catalan).
Manelic, a shepherd from the highlands, marries Marta, the mistress of Sebastià, the local boss. The betrayal unleashes Manelic's rebellion against the landowner and leads him to flee with Marta to the mountains, in search of a life without deceit. The drama contrasts the protagonist's innocence with the corruption of the lowlands.
Work originally published in 1896; this title is number 26 in the Petita Biblioteca Universal collection.
