Saira Qader, a rebellious daughter of a Muslim family of Indo-Pakistani origin settled in Los Angeles, works as a journalist after rejecting family impositions. A personal tragedy pushes her to reconstruct the history of her ancestors: her grandfather's infidelity, his involvement in India's independence, and the life of her great-aunt, a teacher in Pakistan. Through these stories, Saira seeks to reconcile with her identity and her faith while discovering the secrets that marked her family.
Translated from English by Inés Belaustegui Trías, this Spanish edition was published on 27 March 2010.
